FAQs
24-hour cancellation policy
A credit card is required to hold your appointment time. Your appointment is reserved especially for you that is set aside by your practitioner. Since time is not replaceable, we ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice either via call/text when rescheduling or cancelling your appointment. If you are unable to notify us 24 hours prior to booking, your appointment will be charged the full rate.
All we ask is for our time to be respected as we respect yours.
what should I expect for my first massage?
If this is your first session or your first time booking with a new therapist, there can be almost a sense of unknown as to what to expect. However, this session is for you and important for both you and the massage therapist to work together.
If this is your first massage or your first time working with a new therapist, they will guide you on what to expect. You will have the opportunity to discuss your goals with your session, health history and how your body is feeling in that moment. If you have any questions for your massage therapist, feel free to ask them. They will gladly answer and address any questions or concerns you may have.
what if I’m late to my appointment?
If you arrive late to your appointment we will do our best to accommodate IF time allows. Please expect your service to end at the originally scheduled time since we are typically fully booked and there is likely another appointment after yours. The originally scheduled appointment rate will apply.
arriving to your appointment
It is recommended to arrive 5-10min early prior to your scheduled appointment. This is to allow for time to find parking, locating the studio, using the restroom, and potentially filling out your intake form if you have not already done so via email.
how do I know how long of a session I should book?
Here’s the rule of thumb:
60min for focused bodywork - If you have specific areas of the body that are causing pain or discomfort, 60min is perfect for addressing said areas to ensure you leave the session feeling relieved in your area of complaint
90min for full bodywork session - If your goal is to leave the session feeling revived and reset, 90min will allow the therapist to focus on your areas of complaints as well as have time to address everywhere else. 90min allows for the therapist to provide a full body massage.
what are your rates?
We charge by the duration of your session rather than the style to ensure your session is catered to your needs.
60min - $110.00
75min - $130.00
90min - $150.00
where are you located?
Our practice is currently located within AG Massage Studio in Portland, Oregon. The address is 322 NW 5th Ave, #305. When you arrive in the general vicinity, look for the black awning with sconces on either side. It also has a plaque with the name, “The Minnesota Hotel”. If you are having a difficult time finding us, please feel free to reach out (971) 245-2285.
is there parking nearby?
There is plenty of street parking and a few parking lots nearby.
what do I wear for my session?
For the massage, you are welcome to undress to your level of comfort. You will be covered by a sheet and a blanket which the therapist will professionally drape and modify to keep you feeling modest and comfortable during your session.
what are the benefits of massage?
For many generations, massage has been practiced to help alleviate and manage pain patterns/tension stored within the body, enhance & increase circulation to help release toxins and stagnant fluid, manage stress & anxieties, promote tissue regeneration, and increase mobility.
Massage addresses the body in not only a physical sense, but also your mental and emotional well being as all is connected.
do you accept insurance?
At this point in time, we do not accept insurance, but will gladly provide a receipt for proof of service.
do you accept walk-in clients?
This is an appointment-only studio. However, we are available for same day appointments. Simply book online or shoot us a message!
is gratuity expected?
Though not expected, gratuity is customary and appreciated. We treat gratuity as a token of appreciation. However, if leaving gratuity adds to the stress of receiving regular massage, we’d prefer to see you more often. For those who are able, it is customary to leave a gratuity of 15-25%.
Gratuity is not the only way to show appreciation for your massage therapist. Referring friends, family, and colleagues, leaving a review, or simply paying with cash to avoid CC fees are a few other great ways to “leave gratuity”.
